Nevada Families First

Nevada Families First, Community Chest Inc is a proud Blue Ribbon Certified Parents as Teachers™ (PAT) Affiliate. PAT is a nationally-recognized, high-quality, evidence-based home visiting model that connects families with child development assistance, education, and information. Health as well as developmental screenings and resources are provided to parents and guardians. The national Parents as Teachers™ vision is “that all children will learn, grow, and develop to realize their full potential.”

This is a free and voluntary home visiting program.

Home Visits: 
Visits are scheduled weekly or biweekly between the Parent Educator and the family. Information and education is provided to families focusing on their developing child, the wellbeing of the family, and the development as a parent. Parents enjoy learning ways they can support their child’s literacy and development through play. Our monthly group connections offer parents and children a time to socialize, be creative, and bring families together while enjoying an activity. 

Target Families:
Must be pregnant and/or have a child under 5 years of age
Must be a resident of Storey. Lyon, Mineral, or Carson City, or Tonopah
