About the Library

In 2010, after the Storey County Library Board voted to disband, Community Chest agreed to become the stewards of the library collection.
With the help of many volunteers, other rural libraries, and the state library, the collection of books was moved 3 different times before finding its permanent home.

When the second phase of the Community Center opened in the spring of 2018, the library space that we know and love today was opened.
In 2021, the Library was rededicated to Lucy Bouldin in honor of her longtime service as Storey County’s librarian.

Over the winter of 2025, the library space was revamped, adding more family-friendly programs, community events, and a cozy lounge area with coffee and tea.
