Al McNeil is the Sheriff of Lyon County

Here’s what his nominator had to say about Sheriff McNeil:

“Sheriff Al McNeil has been instrumental in developing a restorative justice system in Lyon County. He participates in discussions supporting inmate rehabilitation, treatment, and community healing. Under his leadership, the FASTT and MOST programs were implemented. He also ensured his staff received Crisis Intervention Awareness training and has scheduled a full CIT Certification class for Lyon County. His vision has led to a philosophical shift of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, which extends to the community partners and the larger community. Nationally, Sheriff McNeil has engaged in opportunities to advocate for behavioral health integration with the criminal justice system.”
