Amanda Nielsen

University of Southern California, Master’s Degree in the School of Social Work

Amanda grew up in Reno, NV.  She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She is currently a Student Practicum Therapist at Community Chest while she earns her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.  Amanda is the Program Director at a community mental health center in Reno, NV and has experience working with children, adults, and families.  She hopes to graduate with her MSW in November 2019.


Faith Quast

University of Nevada, Reno, Master’s Degree in Social Work

Faith was born and raised in central Illinois, relocating to Reno last fall. She received her bachelor’s degree in Community Health from Illinois State University in 2014 and maintained certification as an alcohol and other drug counselor in Illinois. Much of her work has been related to substance abuse, crisis intervention, and adolescent mental health. She is currently pursuing an MSW at University of Nevada, Reno with an anticipated graduation date of May 2021. She is excited by the opportunity to gain experience working with rural communities in Northern Nevada. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.


Christina Copeland

Union Institute and University, Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Christina grew up in North Texas but eventually moved to Nevada to be closer to the mountains. She has experience in the education field as an elementary teacher for 7 years and 3 years of experience working for various non-profits. Christina earned her bachelor of arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies – Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005. After two years working for an aid organization in South Sudan, Christina returned to the United States to earn her elementary teacher certification. She is currently working on her master of arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Union Institute and University. She has lived in the Northern Nevada region since 2010. Christina moved to the Reno area to enjoy many of the outdoor activities she loves: skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, camping, hiking, and snowshoeing. She has two lazy cats and two hyperactive dogs that take a lot of her attention outside of work and school.


Haley Turner

University of Nevada, Reno, Master’s Degree in Social Work

Haley grew up in eastern Ohio and moved to Nevada in 2017. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Westminster College. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno with an anticipated graduation date of May 2020 and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Intern. She has worked in the field since 2014, with extensive experience working with adults and youth, and is eager to continue expanding her breadth of knowledge in the field of Human Services. Haley enjoys volleyball, hiking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and going to festivals, always striving towards balanced physical and emotional health and wellbeing.


Anna Magee

University of Nevada, Reno, Minor in Addiction Studies (The Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment- CASAT)

Anna grew up in Reno, NV. She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Research Psychology and a minor in Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention. She is currently a Clinical Research Coordinator at Renown Regional Medical Center. She hopes to get into a graduate program within the next few years to start her Child, Family and School Psychology degree. Anna enjoys rainy days, reading, kickboxing, MMA, and traveling to new places.


Peach Coons

University of Nevada, Reno, Human Development and Family Studies

A native Nevadan and a lifelong resident of rural Nevada, Peach is familiar with the struggles to provide communities with access to quality services. A particular interest to Peach is the enrichment of opportunities provided to youth. In order to become instrumental in providing much needed youth services, Peach is currently enrolled at UNR and is scheduled to graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies in December of 2019. Her internship at Community Chest will allow her to focus on providing services to children in the community.
