UPDATE 3/21/2020: CCI’s COVID-19 RESPONSE

Dear Ones –

The good news is that we have made it through Week 1 since shutting down all of our youth programs, COW bus stops, and library. The bad news is that there remains a lot of uncertainty regarding just how long this “temporary new normal” will continue. The most optimistic projections indicate just a couple of weeks while the least are suggesting several weeks.

As indicated in last week’s COVID-19 post, Community Chest continues to offer the following programs during this very difficult time:

  • Continuation of all case management and counseling services through tele-health. We can not emphasize this enough. This is a very stressful and trying time. If you need to speak with someone and/or need assistance, please call our emergency counseling line at 775-297-1267. We will do the very best that we can to help you directly and/or refer you to the resources you may need.
  • We will have a skeleton crew available to help provide food boxes through our food pantry at our Community Center at 175 Carson Street in Virginia City. During business hours, please call our main number 775-847-9311, extension 105.
  • The healthcare clinic will remain open all day Wednesdays. In order to reduce the possibility of exposure, the Monday afternoon telehealth sessions have been cancelled until further notice.

As new developments occur, we will keep folks posted.
