CCI Celebrates Most Successful Fundraiser to Date with Rodney Crowell Concert!

CCI held its annual “A Night to Imagine” fundraiser this month, featuring Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell. It was a magical evening, with an enthusiastic and enchanted sold-out Piper’s Opera House crowd entertained by the musical legend in an acoustic trio playing both beloved classics and songs from his acclaimed new album, “Close Ties”.

Fans both local and from afar made it a night out to remember; crowding local restaurants, pubs, and hotels in Virginia City before and after the show. A raffle and silent auction featuring generous donations from local merchants raised even more funds for Community Chest’s programs as supporters bid on such prizes as rounds of golf, a luxury hotel package, retail gift certificates, and beautiful jewelry.

Locals were able to sign up for a brand-new Storey County Community Library Card, and our youth Global Voice program held a raffle for a prize trip to Mexico.

Not only are CCI’s annual fundraising concerts developing a reputation as one of Virginia City’s biggest and best nights out of the year, they are truly a labor of love for and collaborative partnership between Community Chest, the  Virginia City and surrounding communities, and our generous donors, supporters, and volunteers.

Stay tuned for the next event!
