Community Chest’s NFF Program Director Michael-Ann Lazzarino, and Parent Educator Farah Rashdan recently attended Assets and Opportunity Legislative Day at the Nevada State Legislature to promote financial literacy and resources for teens and families. This event was sponsored by Opportunity Alliance Nevada. Attendees attended a networking breakfast, met with legislators, and had the opportunity to sit in while the legislature was in session. Michael-Ann and Farah also met with Assemblyman Jim Wheeler, state representative for Storey County, to discuss the importance of promoting financial security and economic mobility for Nevadans.
Nevada Families First (NFF) is a voluntary, free program that provides high-quality, evidence-based parent education and support to pregnant mothers and families with children up to age 5 through home visits, health and developmental screenings, and other resources.
